Doctorate in Educational Leadership
The Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership (Ed.D.) prepares learners to develop into progressive leaders who will tactically lead and direct complex educational organizations. Graduates will be educational practitioners who improve the performance of educational institutions by exhibiting their analytical, original, and critical thinking. The Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership degree is consistent with the University's aim to educate working adults to increase the abilities and knowledge that will allow them to reach their professional goals, improve the efficiency of their organizations, and offer service and leadership to their communities. The program stresses leadership and gives emphasis on applied research that improves educational environments.
The following admission requirements are expected to be met by all applicants to this program:
1) A regionally or nationally accredited U.S. master's degree
2) A cumulative graduate GPA of 3.0 or higher
3) Have the capability to attend residential workshops in Phoenix, AZ: 1st year-8 days; 2nd year-3 days; 3rd year-8 days
4) Three years of professional full-time employment, including current or past record of employment in an education occupation (public/private education P-12, higher education, training institute) or leadership position
5) Three recommendation forms
6) A minimum score of 600 on the paper-based exam or 250 on the computer-based exam of the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) for non-native speakers of English
