Special Education
Specially trained educators are needed to work with disabled children. It is vital that such educators be trained professionals who are able to provide services and instruction specifically designed to meet the needs of these children. Materials must be adaptable and able to be specially tailored to each individual student. It is also important that the teaching methods used be varied in their approach; insuring that each student being taught has the opportunity to reach their full learning potential.
Special education professionals are:
- Intelligent, organized, and flexible
- Prepared to meet the challenges of their profession with confidence and enthusiasm
- Masters of learning styles and teaching strategies
- Creative problem solvers
- Lifelong learners
- Team players
Because they are specifically trained to look towards their student's potential and not to dwell on their disabilities, special educators can have meaningful impact on their student's lives.
