Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering
The Bachelor of Science program in Mechanical Engineering works to help students gain a broad foundation in engineering fields. The program has two tracks which allow students to select an area of specialization and build upon their broad foundation.
Option A: Thermo-Sciences Energy emphasizes thermal-energy fields like combustion, power plant and heating, ventilation and air conditioning.
Option B: Machine Design Structures examines the mechanics and engineering problems and opportunities in manufacturing, automobile and aerospace industries, etc. The focus of this is option is structural and material properties and dynamics.
Coursework for Option A includes classes in engineering of thermo-dynamics, principles of fluid mechanics, mechanics of heat transfer, industrial heat exchangers, etc.
Coursework in Option B includes classes related to the strengths of materials, properties and selection of materials, mechatronics, physics, mechanical vibrations, etc.
