Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership
The Doctoral program in Educational Leadership provides students with the critical thinking and problem solving skills necessary to effectively run learning institutions of all sizes. Like all of degree programs at University of Phoenix, the Doctor of Education program in Educational Leadership helps working professionals: 1) gain the skills necessary to reach their career goals, 2) enhance their organizations' performance, and 3) become leaders and examples in their community. The coursework uses analytical field research to find ways to enhance the learning experience and improve leadership skills.
Those wishing to apply to this Doctoral program must:
- Have earned a bachelor's degree from a nationally or regionally accredited college or university.
- Have earned a cumulative GPA of no less 3.0.
- Be available for yearly workshops in Phoenix, Arizona (year one: 8 day workshop. year two: 3 day workshop. Year three: 8 day workshop)
- Have at least a three-year full-time work history including experience in preschool, elementary or secondary education, or other leadership roles.
- Turn in three letters of recommendation (forms provided by U. of Phoenix)
- Take the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) and a score at least 250 on the computer test or 600 on the paper test (Required only of applicants for whom English is a second language).
